Lex Hixon called himself an active initiate and spiritual citizen of five different
religious traditions: Christianity, Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, Zen Buddhism,
and Islam. Lex shared the profound illumination from these explorations
through his many books, including: Coming Home: The Experience of
Enlightenment in Sacred Traditions, Living Buddha Zen, Great Swan: Meetings
with Ramakrishna, Mother of the Universe, Mother of the Buddhas, and The
Heart of the Koran. (These books, presented by publishers other than Pir Press
are nonetheless still available through Sufi Books). Lex was also the shaykh
or spiritual teacher, of the Jerrahi Sufi Order located in New York City from 1985 until his passing
in 1995, and founded numerous circles of the Order throughout the United States and Mexico.

"Lex Hixon was an interfaith world all unto himself: a rare being who not only felt at home in
various religious traditions, but celebrated each with boldness and passion."

101 DIAMONDS
From the Oral Tradition of the Glorious Messenger Muhammad
By Lex Hixon (Nur al-Jerrahi) and Fariha al-Jerrahi
ISBN: 1-879708-17-5
Price: $10
Trade paper, 163 pages
This book is a treasury of the wisdom of Sufism, which is the path of
transmutation and self-realization, opened by the Prophet Muhammad, may
Divine peace be upon him, over 1400 years ago. Through merging into Love,
the Sufi disappears from self and reappears as Divine Love alone.
These 101 diamonds of wisdom, collected by the great mystic and knower
Ibn 'Arabi in the 13th Century, are direct inspirations into the heart of the
Prophet from the Source of Love and Wisdom. They take the reader on a
spiritual journey to ever-deepening levels of intimate knowing, which
culminate in the radiance of Paradise, surrounded by companions of Love.
This modern version of Ibn al-'Arabi's collection of oral traditions is a
contemplative expansion by a contemporary Sufi teacher, Lex Hixon
(Nur al-Jerrahi) and his disciple, Fariha al-Jerrahi. In fresh, poetic language,
and with their own mystical passion, they bring these sacred diamonds of
the Islamic tradition to the modern seeker on the spiritual path to
enlightenment.
